Why comfort food is great for parties

Comfort food is everyone’s favourite, especially during the winter months, when the warming food in a toasty house is an escape from the cold weather outside. So, why not treat your guests to some comfort food classics at your event? And, apparently, it’s National Comfort Food Day on the 5th December, so we’ve listed a few of our firm favourites suitable for catering for all type of events.

Classics

Lasagne is warm and inviting, who doesn’t enjoy the layered pasta dish covered in rich tomatoes and cheese sauce? At Buffets by Design, we offer both a veggie and meat option to cater for your guests. It’s easy to serve, ideally alongside garlic bread, crusty bread and butter or a leafy salad. Modern twist

Fish and Chips is for everyone, young and old, so at your next family gathering there is no need to create separate dishes for children and adults. At Buffets by Design we offer scampi with tartar sauce, a great option for a modern canape at your party.

Perhaps your celebration is on a Sunday and you want to tie in a Sunday roast with your menu, but you don’t want to feel overwhelmed by delivering a full-on Sunday roast. We offer roast beef and Yorkshire puddings as part of our finger buffet menu too. Bite size portions of your favourite meals are a great choice and easy serving option.

Pizza galore

Last but not least, is pizza! According to Stylist Magazine*, Pizza is our top comfort food classic. But does that really come as a surprise? Pizza comes in so many different forms it’ll be hard not to please everyone. You can create simple pizza toppings such as pepperoni or margherita or you can create something more sophisticated with sun-dried tomatoes, smoked bacon, goats cheese, or caramelised onions – all excellent options.
