What are the latest wedding trends?

With the Wedding Season well and truly upon us, we’re more than excited to see all the latest and most popular trends and what’s likely to stay the course well into next year. Whether you’re the lucky couple, a wedding guest, a bridesmaid, or just a Pinterest addict who loves planning a dream wedding, this is the blog for you.

Here, we breakdown all the trends from this Wedding season which we predict will only keep getting bigger:

  • A Return to the classics with a modern twist. Think of a period drama dining room; tall silver candlesticks, lace overlays and three course meals…but tie it altogether with the clean look of minimalism, whites, and pastels.
Fresh and bold colour combinations. Do you want your wedding to be a huge statement next wedding season? Then this trend is a must for you. Bold floral decorations, colourful napkins, vibrant bridesmaid dresses, bright candle sticks, and chair covers which can be seen from a mile off! This trend is ideal for summer weddings.
  • Larger variety of vegan menus. Stemming from the increasing vegan movement, and plant-based options being more readily available this is an inclusive and ethical trend. At Buffets by Design, we cater for all dietary requirements you and your guests may have. From our hot and cold fork buffets we offer a range of delicious meals from a roasted vegetable tart, colourful salads, veggie chilli’s and lasagnes!
  • Larger than life flower décor. With Royal weddings and inspiration from Kardashian parties; flowers which seem to take up most of the budget can’t be overlooked! You can place these floral arrangements anywhere; the entrance to the reception or ceremony, a floral arch over a doorway, or perhaps a floral wall at the party for wedding guests to take photos in front of. But don’t forgot those details – what about edible flowers for decorations on your welcome cocktails or garnishes for food.
  • Personalised place settings. This thoughtful idea allows you to combine name placements at dinner with either a little thank you note or a lovely quote. Of course, if your dinner at the reception is huge, this could be limited to the top table, or close family and friends.
  • Grazing tables. If you don’t want to go for a formal sit-down meal. We offer canapes and a finger buffet service. At Buffets by Design, we can either stay and help with serving or only be present for set-up and removal – whatever you see fits. Check out our menus perfect for your feast.
  • Want the most delicious food for your wedding? Here is a simple and easy trick to make sure this happens. Think of what’s in season. This is a great way to get the most flavour from your food, as well as doing your bit for the environment and local farms and butchers. Keep an eye on our blog for our quarterly run down of what food is in season with ideas for dishes that can easily be tailored for your reception.

At Buffets by Design we understand that everyone’s perfect wedding vision is unique. We are open to discussing alternative set-ups, or changes to menus and ensuring dietary requirements are catered for, to ensure your wedding will meet your expectations.
