National seafood week

Imagine a food campaign reaching over 416 million people and set to increase year on year*. Well, that very successful food campaign is Seafood Week, which this year runs from the 4th until 11th of October.

The purpose of Seafood Week is to highlight the variety and quality of fish and shellfish on offer in the UK. It is a space created for businesses and organisations across the seafood industry, to show what they do and what they have for offer. Menus, recipes, places to dine out, and inspiration for how to enjoy your fish is all shared over the course of this eight-day celebration. So, look out for promotions or events that may be taking place near you.

At Buffets by Design, we want to do our bit to try and encourage the public to enjoy more fish-based meals. So, next time you hold a function take a look at these dishes and see what catches your fancy.

Our poached salmon dressed in cucumber and lemon is part of our cold fork buffet menu, and it goes down well when paired with some of our salads, such as Moroccan couscous, potato salad, and wild rice salad with orange and cucumber.

Another fitting cold fork option to choose is our seafood platter including mussels, prawns, and roll mops – pickled herring fillets typically rolled with a tasty savoury filling inside.

However, if you’re feeling like having something on the warmer side as it nears the colder months, we offer a delicious fish pie on our Hot Fork Menu B.

If you have an upcoming function to plan for and have been inspired by National Seafood week then get in touch with us today either via our online enquiry form or call us on 020 8651 2338.
