Trends in Vegan Cooking

Veganism to many seems bland and boring, with limited food choices but it doesn’t have to be like that. Trends seen in vegan cooking is re-inventing typically non-vegan dishes. Take your favourite comfort meal and see how you could recreate it or look up vegan friendly recipes. Mac n’ Cheese? Try using blended cashew nuts, incorporated with a bunch of other tasty ingredients, to give that same creamy sauce. Check out this recipe on DetoxInista.

Grocery stores are stocking more and more vegan and veggie options. Waitrose now stocks over thirty vegan food products, and some, like Sainsbury’s are seeing their sales rocketing because of it. Veganism is all about trying something new; trying a variety of recipes, buying vegan food products, and experimenting with new ingredients.

  • Beans and lentils are a staple, they can give substance to anything you have and packed full of fibre and make dishes such as make chilli, currys and burritos.
  • Experiment! Try out different vegan options from your local store and see what you like, you never know it might surprise you.
  • Get Creative. Take your favourite dishes and see what you can do to reinvent them. Love burgers? How about making them with mushrooms; a great substitute for a meat-like texture.
